Posada Del Hidalgo Hotel

Beautiful building and grounds, though a bit difficult to navigate if you have a bum foot. Zorro show is a scream! Don't miss it . Good food, great location. Make sure they honor your reservation before you get there

Posada del Hidalgo is my favorite place to stay in El Fuerte. It's in a quiet corner of downtown so you can get a good night's sleep even if the parties are rocking a couple of blocks away well into the night. The hot water for the shower works great, which I can't say for any of the other three nicer hotels I have stayed in. They have beautiful gardens with the prettiest bougainvillea I have ever seen, and a beautiful open air bar poolside under a nice thatch roof. The bar is up on the hill a bit so it catches the gentle breezes which help cool an otherwise hot day. It has a wonderfully elegant restaurant which is a little pricey by local standards, also open air with breezes. It is the highest priced hotel in town, but inexpensive by US standards.

The rooms are all gorgeous and the service is excellent. I've stayed here twice and I would never stay anywhere else. I've never had problems with water or plumbing and it's always super clean. The food is also great and not very expensive, considering their give star atmosphere

El Fuerte, Sinaloa, Mexico, claims to be the birthplace of the fictional character Zorro whose bronze statue stands on a patio of the Posada del Hidalgo. Zorro reenactments are performed at the hotel.

Beautiful hotel with friendly attentive staff. The gourmet meals are well presented in this storied building. There are several day tours daily and is the perfect jumping off point for a copper canyon trip. This was our first trip to the canyon. On a future trip we will stay an additional day to take in some of the El Furte sights.

Our experience at Posada del Hidalgo was mixed, but ultimately positive thanks to the staff’s kindness and willingness to make things right. When we arrived, there was an issue locating our online reservation. Thankfully, the front desk addressed it promptly and graciously upgraded us to a suite as a gesture of goodwill. The room itself was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated the large bathroom. However, cleanliness could be improved — we noticed fingerprints on furniture, and the walls, carpet, and tiles could have used a more thorough cleaning. A heads-up for light sleepers: the property is located next to a neighbor who owns roosters, and the noise can be disruptive at times. When we mentioned this to the front desk, they were understanding and offered to show us other available rooms, which we truly appreciated, even though we chose to stay in the original suite. Overall, the hotel has charm and potential, and the staff’s friendly attitude made a real difference. With some attention to detail on cleanliness, it could be an excellent stay.

We had breakfast at the restaurant. What a wonderful place! The food was delicious, the waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the history of the area. Price was reasonable. I would consider staying at this hotel if I ever visit El Fuerte again.
